Physical Education at St Joseph's

PE cover

Here at St Josephs, we encourage the children to lead active, healthy lifestyles. By doing this their appreciation for PE strengthens and they learn to value it as an integral part of the curriculum.

Pupils at St Joseph’s take part in a wide range of sports including Paralympic activities such as Boccia and New Age Kurling, as a way to promote inclusivity. We also work closely with the local community, and have a strong sporting relationship with Middlesex University.

Therefore we strive for our children to be physically active every day, whether through PE lessons, extra-curriculum activities, play time or competitive sport in school.

We aim for our pupils to push themselves, by taking part of Nelson Mandela’s quote to “Win or learn”. With this in mind it allows them to become confident in a way which supports health and fitness throughout their lives.

We inspire our children to always try their best by focusing on some of our core values

Community

Aspiration

Respect

Resilience

Creativity

Lastly to reaffirm that self-belief we try to finish each lesson with the mantra…

We are the champions!
